Ponder's Rona Gallery
Whether you have an hour or just a few minutes passing by you’ll love dropping into Rona Gallery. It’s a world apart. Although many have tried, there is no imitating Richard Ponder’s art -- his use of a palette knife and colour sense is unsurpassed and both his abstract and landscapes have an inimitable flair.

Cafes and Dining
Gelissimo, like Sugar in Days Bay, are known for their awesome gelato and their fair trade coffee.
The Beach, 11 Rimu Street is a family friendly atmosphere with a lovely outside courtyard and great food and coffee.
The Lifeboat Tavern and restaurant, 5 Oroua Street, also has great food.
If you want something top notch you can’t go past the Cobar Restaurant – for starters it has the best gluten free bread – no, the best bread I have ever tasted. It just goes to show how good their chef is.
There’s also a supermarket and Deli in Eastbourne proper if you just want to buy your lunch and eat it on the waterfront.
Activities
The main attraction for Eastbourne are the beaches. Days Bay is particularly popular and the Days Bay Boatshed is open most weekends. The Boatshed is just beside the Days Bay wharf, and hires Kayaks, Canoes, Mountain Bikes and more ph: 64 (0)4 5628150.
The more secluded Eastbourne Beach has a nearby playground and fort to keep the kids happy, as well as the Eastbourne Summer Pool (562 7582) open from November to March.
Also popular is the Butterfly Creek walk and the walk or cycle-way to Pencarrow Lighthouse. For more information on Eastbourne and Wainuiomata walkways
