Suzanne Herschell

               
I work from my studio in Eastbourne where I live, painting here for over thirty years a continuum of work in oil, acrylic and watercolour recording places, events and issues of personal interest via image and words, conducting a continuing conversation about land connections and identity in Aotearoa.
 
One such painting acknowledging the gift of Tongariro National Park in 1887 to the Crown by Ngati Tuwhareto is permanently displayed in the Tuwharetoa Gallery beside the Deed Of Gift in Taupo Museum.
 
As an Artist Member of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts since 1981, Council Member of The Wellington Artists’ Gallery Trust for four years and member of Watercolour NZ, Suzanne exhibits regularly.  She has a history of involvement in national and international group, solo and selected exhibitions that include the past Benson & Hedges and Norsewear Art Award Exhibitions and her work is in private and corporate collections here and overseas.
