Portrait artist Lindsay Mitchell comes well recommended by Art Gallery New Zealand as a representational portrait painter, available to do commissioned works. Her portraits are believable, eye-catching and atmospheric.

Lindsay came to New Zealand from England in 1967. In the early 1990s her interest in art grew into a passion for portraits. She has been especially influenced by Degas and Goldie, other influences coming from Ingres, Sargent, Renoir, Kinstler and Donaldson.

Lindsay Mitchell has exhibited widely, including at the Academy of Fine Arts, and the National Portrait Gallery.

Portrait paintings

All prices include framing. The completed work is ready to hang. All portraits can be painted from sittings, or colour or black & white photographs. If you do not have a suitable photo not have a suitable photo I will provide this service for a minimal extra charge. No deposit is required. Payment is required only when you accept the portrait.
