Renee HuntFor Renee art is all about self expression and producing a unique insight into her own world. Her works vary with her day to day experiences, so her repertoire consists of a variety of images and styles. She likes to experiment with textures, applying her paint layer after layer. This is an intuitive process aided partially by a controlled environment, involving sound and light. Her palette covers the full spectrum, nearly always incorporating gold and gold leaf. Renee trained with fine arts at the School of Design, Wellington, but her unique style is something she has developed over the years. She considers herself to be a mostly a self taught painter, and this is easily illustrated by her unique ability to create paintings with real flair from the mixed media approach that she has developed. She comes from a very talented family, her father [Ken Hunt] is well known for his realism and portraiture and also exhibits with Rona Gallery. Although their styles are very different, their personalities are very compatible and they shared an exhibition, “A family affair” in 2007. Renee’s work can be found in many private and corporate collections throughout New Zealand and Australia and she has been a regular exhibitor at Rona Gallery since February 2005.
